Josh and I are heading over to New Zealand in a few weeks. I am doing a training course at the uni in Auckland for a week then we are flying down to the South Island to travel around for the second week. We are landing in Queenstown and then travelling up to Franz Josef then we are flying out from Christchurch.
We would love to know any great vintage shops, op shops, old cool towns and anything else 'cool' for 27 year olds to do.
Do a helicopter ride to the top of the Glacier so much fun a day you will never forget.Enjoy your trip and take lots of photos for us.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite shopping destination in Auckland is K-Road. Lots of vintage fashion & quirky shops. Ponsonby has some nice antique places too. There's not much vintage in Queenstown. There's a toy & car museum in Wanaka which Mr P adores. Lots of amazing vintage things to see. We love traveling to Wanaka via the Crown Range....much more interesting then the other route. Not much vintage on the West Coast, but there are some lovely towns with some junk stores on the way to Christchurch like Darfield. Foragers in Christchurch is worth a visit. I'm feeling a bit envious of your trip, but fingers crossed that we'll be back in September. Xx
ReplyDeleteOh & had to tell you our fav cafe in Queenstown is called 'Old Man Rock' at Chicos in the Mall. We eat there everyday & whenever we try another cafe we always feel disappointed. There are a couple of op shops in Queenstown but I've never found too much there. I can't wait to hear all about your trip. Xx
ReplyDeleteThere's still plenty of opshops here in Christchurch!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite places on the West Coast are Reefton and Ross.Don't think there's any opshopping in Ross though.Greymouth,I'm told, has great opshops!Methven has a nice vintage shop, not sure what else.the South Island is really beautiful, you'll have a great time!
O,a walk on the glacier is recommended.I prefer Fox,as it's quieter than Franz.Near Fox Glacier is Lake Matheson, well worth a visit!
Arrowtown, near Queenstown is awesome, and I haven't been to Alexandra in years, but really liked it last time I was there.
:)
