Gay Ware

Mum picked up this on the weekend. It has never been used and is still in the box! I have never seen a full set like this before. Normally, we get a few individual pieces in, however we never get a full unused set still in the box! This is a 'table gift set' which has cheese, butter, sugar, jam, honey. It is in the most amazing colour blue.

Gay Ware is one of the most collectable and iconic pieces from the 1950s. If you have a fifties kitchen then you have some Gay Ware. There are all sorts of canisters in different sizes, styles - cake, flour, jam, sugar, cheese etc and all different colours.

I am so glad to have got this set. I would be keeping it if we were still in our 50's house, unfortunately it does not suit the 1800s. She also picked up these three yellow canisters. Keep an eye on our facebook page for them to go onsale.

Supanova

Last weekend Josh and my best friend dragged me along to Supanova. Its like a smaller, Australian version of Comic Con. They told me that it would be appropriate for me to wear my cape, so I did. Supanova was so packed, there were so many people there, I could not believe it. We had to walk around twice just so we could have a proper look. I didn't buy anything and Josh only got a few comics, however, it was one of the best people watching experiences I have had. So many people were dressed up. It was great. Here are a few pictures I took.

Rock n Roll Market Wrap Up

A few Sundays ago we trotted off to the Rock n Roll Alternative Markets at their new venue, Sydney Uni. It was a shocking day for weather. We had a really quick look at the outside stalls but the weather was so bad we just had to head inside. The atmosphere inside was great. There were heaps of people and heaps of stalls. Some people had amazing stalls and I was able to take a few snaps. The photo above and below are from Sillier than Sally. Look at these amazing clutches!

I am going to have to apologise for the blurry face picture of Claire from Fifties Frocks but I had to show you her and her stall. These dresses are stunning, I just wish my camera was working better in the light so I could show you more. I managed to get three half decent photos of her dresses but please go and check out her website and she does such amazing work!!!

This is the beautiful Kitty Van Horne who was selling some of her goodies! She is such a stunning lady!

Annie from Cherish Treasures was also there. We know each other from the Love Vintage shows where she also exhibits, it is great that we always run into each other and have a good chat. I love her stuff, I own a necklace pendant and a pair of the scottie hair clips that you can see in this picture, they are amazing, I always get comments on them.

Despite the terrible weather we had a great day looking around and the bands were great. It is definitely worth heading off to if your in Sydney. The next one will be on the 12th August.

A Cats Castle

Every cat has their own Castle, right? Well Frankie has taken over our two storey cubby house. She uses its height to watch over the backyard (and to stare at the neighbours, plotting her invasion of their yard).

Fowler Jar Overload!!!

We currently are suffering from Fowler Mason Jar Overload! I have been collecting them for some time to use as vases at special occasions such as weddings and birthdays, however, we now have hundreds of them, so I am going to start to sell them. We have a variety of sizes the prices range from the smallest jar being $3 to the tallest jar which is $6. Their super cheap price does not reflect their quality (they are perfect) we just need to get rid of some of them to make space for more pretty things.
